H - Hunt Me if You Can

My H polish in the ABC challenge is Essence Hunt Me if You Can. It's a great black shade with silver and multicolour shimmer. This is two easy coats.

For this cutesy-pie manicure I decided to combine two of the designs I've got on my Awesome Manicures board at Pinterest. Thank you Nailasaurus for the splatter idea and Kayono for the penguin!

To all fingers but the ring finger I did a splatter with Gosh Silver and Kleancolor Metallic Orange.

 The ring finger got a penguin design with the same colours. The penguin was really easy to make, please google for a tutorial and make your own!

On the thumb I made a tape manicure using Lacquistry Cosy Fire and OPI Pirouette My Whistle

And of course I had to matify with Essence Soft Touch topper.

By the way, Kleancolor Metallic Orange is almost a one coater and looks great on its own. Awesome quality for a dollar! It stained my gel nails a bit, though, so be careful with this one.

This manicure is one of my favourites for a long time. Plus it was fun to photograph it matified, without having to worry about reflections. This mani, especially the "who, me" penguin, made me smile many times, and I hope it did it for you, too! Sometimes, when your life is a mess, such a small thing can make a difference for a moment: a fun memory or, say, a penguin on your nails.

C - Colorblind

This third post in the ABC-series is dedicated to Dandy Nails, and Sandy's great creation Colorblind.

I began with two coats of Nicole by OPI Celebration in Red - a great festive colour.

Speaking of coats with these kinds of glitters is a bit evasive, so let's say I added a generous dabbing of Dandy Nails Colorblind.

 I loved the result so much, that I wanted it to last for days...

 ...so of course I had to try it sandwiched with one thin coat of Flormar U14.

And then I had to try matifying it...

And then I had to try a black/clear water marble on the ring finger...

And then, having at least 7 coats of polish on my nails, I had to reach for the remover. End of story.

Gaga for Sandwiching

Recently I scored form clearance 2 Claire's polishes, unnamed green and orange ones (bright, almost neon) with slight shimmer. I'd say their normal price (2,95 euros for each) is ridiculously high for the quality. I got them on sale for 1 euro altoghter, and wouldn't still buy them again. But they were good for some fun sandwiching!

I tried to use them as the base coats, too, but ended up having only a slight tint on my nails after one coat. So I removed that and went to search for other bases from my stash. I was quite happy when I found Ghina Glaze Gaga For Green (one of the three Blossoming polishes I got) paired with China Glaze Papaya Punch. They were a perfect match!

The first pic shows only the base, and the second one is with the Claire's polishes. They're really only adding some subtle shimmer. A bit of a disappointment, I'd say..

The glitter I used for the sandwiching was the Essence Nail Art topper Circus Confetti. On the top of it I added two coats of the Claire's polishes.

On the second day I matified the look using Essence Nail Art topper in Soft touch. This is the look I loved the most! My nails looked like candy!

As the last attempt to make the mani last for another day, I tried to make some scotch tape stripes on the accent finger. I think I cut the tape strips too wide, though, and they were not as neat I had hoped. I used Mavala black as my black polish. Well, better luck next time...
