No H8!

Lately I've seen a lot of posts against bullying in the nail blog world and a bunch of beautiful no hate manicures, and I had to add mine.

 Actually I really felt the urge to do this manicure and post it after reading Veronicas post at her blog "Gorgeois". 

She shares her story of being bullied in a way that is very touching, extremely mature plus totally brave. I really admire her for that, and I relate to her post more than I would actually want to.

 Basically, her idea (and mine) is that you don't win hate by creating more hate. You can choose to act against bullying if you have the resources, you can choose to concentrate on the good things in your life, you can let people know they're making a mistake or acting thoughtlessly (as we all do from time to time), but fostering hate does not get you anywhere.

Alright, end of rant and onto the polish...
The base polishes I used for this "Love, no H8" manicure were Essence Show your feet Purple Magic and China Glaze Señorita Bonita.

On the pinky I stamped a partial image from BM209 with Gosh Silver. On the ring finger of my right hand there's the No H8 logo with the polishes mentioned in this post together with Mavala Black, and left hand has a flower sort of thingy. Middle finger boasts Lacquistry Lilacquistry.

And the pointer is coated with the lovely Nfu'Oh 50, plus a black heart stud. I felt the heart stud was really appropriate - to exclamate love in all its richness and variety of forms, to leave behind any hate cycles that could entagle us all.

Day 1: Think Pink!

It's the first day of the girly-girl challenge, and we're all going to think pink!

 I took the challenge literally and picked up my favourite pink polish: Sinful Colors Cream Pink. It's an awesome neon-but-not-hurting-your-eyes -pink with a hidden golden shimmer. Application is ok, if you wouldn't try it outside in direct sunlight as I did.

This is two coats. Why-oh-why did I have to pick the polish that is almost impossible to photo color accurately? But you can at least get a glimpse of the golden shimmer in this pic..

I then sponged it with Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure I Pink I Can, Revlon Bubble Gum and Sally Hansen HD LCD (Why am I always trying to type LSD here.?.?.)

To freshen up, I added some three-dot hearts (some of them looking like hearts, some of them like mickey mouse heads...) using Konad White and a dotting tool. I stamped on a fishnet pattern from BM209 with the said Konad white to create a lace effect.

 Lastly, I brushed on a coat of Essence Colour&Go Space Queen for the glitter and levelled it all with Seche Vite. And here are the polishes (minus Space Queen... oops..)

Somehow I liked this mani more before stamping the fishnet pattern. Oh well, I'll get my hands on some serious glitter for the day 2... As do the other girls! Let's see what they've created:

Lace and Pearls

Better to confess straight away: this is a copycat mani with inspiration from the wonderful Emily's Nail files. You can awe her mani here. Emily stamped her flowers, but I decided to paint them using a dotting tool and Konad black special polish.

As the base I've got Models Own Peach Puff. Application was awful, the polish chalky and pasty. This is three painful, though quick drying coats. Why oh why did I buy the whole range of their pastels?!  Maybe I'll try adding some thinner...

 As I said wrote, the "flowers" were painted with a dotting tool, and the fishnet is from Bundle Monster plate BM209. I also added some half pearls bought from eBay. There are two pink ones and one white, though the difference in thei colour might not be visible in the pics. Top coat is Mavala Minute Quick-Finish, which goes well with konading.

These two pictures feature my favourite classy pink heels, which have led me through some intimidating steps on my career and to some precious friends.

Now that my nails are shorter, the new whole nail images really cover my whole nail, which is a new sensation. I'm going to experiment with some more of them soon, until my nails grow out of them again. I'm also going to compare some quick-dry topcoats, so stay tuned!
