Congratulations to all of you, who received an instant earworm! :) I did!<br />

I decided to go for a freehanded city landscape, because the music video is clearly filmed in New York – which is my favourite city EVER!!!<br />
And, on some nails I decided to sponge on galaxy nails. World IS big, even bigger than NYC...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The base in all the nails is Delush Polish Tonight's the Night. First coat was a disappointment, second coat a 'hmmm' – and the third coat pure awesomeness!! It really paid off to go through the first two!<br />

Today's inspiration is <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuHPW71d1U4" target="_blank">Johanna Kurkela's beautiful song called 'Ingrid</a>' <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The lyrics (of the chorus – no way I'm translating the whole song!!) in English would be something around these lines:<br />
<i>""Today I'm cheerful, look at me -</i><br />
<i>doing my work with a smile on my lips.</i><br />
<i>And you're so blind to see</i><br />
<i>how I'm exhausted down till fingertips.""</i><br />

I wanted to illustrate the dark and the light side we all have in us – and I definitely wanted to add a dash of hope in the form of wheat stalks. I believe we all have the seed for good in us, which we can foster and let grow to something beautiful – and also nourishing for others – with the right people and love around us. The album cover was also clearly shot on a field, so maybe that's where the crop idea came from...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The base colours were picked from my oldies – as I have already packed my fave new polishes and shipped them to Spain where we are going to move shortly. The dark polish is Essence Urban Messages Nightline (it's definitely more blue IRL than in these pics), and the light peach is Nicole by OPI Persuasive Peach. They both needed four coats Now I remember, why I didn't pack them...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I picked the colours, and the idea for sponging, from the cover art of the album, which I really appreciate in so many ways. That's exactly the kind of landscape I watch from my desk at home, ever changing with the turn of the seasons, and I love it!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-a35-IsKO_qvLhXW3TmGoHtjnO1zGRPnfWBWG2Aa42kKRKe3oloUIbXD4FDmRHDU1994wtZbJe36UMsGL49pjPCEMngqfT2u1GclVGjX1_KitCn8xdqOBUNptDdzYlTfIyD8nE60Lrhc/s1600/PICT0111.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-a35-IsKO_qvLhXW3TmGoHtjnO1zGRPnfWBWG2Aa42kKRKe3oloUIbXD4FDmRHDU1994wtZbJe36UMsGL49pjPCEMngqfT2u1GclVGjX1_KitCn8xdqOBUNptDdzYlTfIyD8nE60Lrhc/s400/PICT0111.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
For the dark stamping, I mixed Konad's shimmery blue and Mundo de Unhas black stamping polishes. The bronze stamping polish is Kiko mirror 629.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The wheat stalk image came from Born pretty plate BP-L007, and the swirly image from BM-314. The latter is one of my most trusted stamping templates. It seems to save every manicure heading for disaster.. I actually have to stop myself to putting it on every other mani I make. Do you have those images, which just simply call your name every day?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

But enough about me! The other girls have made awesome nails, too! Go and see at least <a href="http://s0happyic0ulddie.blogspot.fi/2015/10/musical-month-ingrid.html" target="_blank">Janina's art at her blog "Never grow up"!</a>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3019959332876800420.post-8542736872213074132015-10-17T15:39:00.000+02:002015-10-17T15:39:23.156+02:00Musical Month: UngettableMy newer favourite in the Musical Month challenge (see more about the challenge in the previous post) is, ironically, an old song from the Finnish Band Naryan. Or well, not an old old, but from their album published in 2013. Maybe I'm so old already, that two years ago is practically 'now' for me.. :D<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEih3kl-kORgp-C2fQb7aqDcXe8Y2KZE_SLn0nEt0NQ_6mj6Qlu22bFrWe9XpGKBWmbdlHmzs8Yk0es9gO_4AW7NO0Dm6qzNNKqpGidcc1u_d980eCF7ALTYpzgHXrjF298aNZrYXCmr0v4/s1600/PICT0111.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEih3kl-kORgp-C2fQb7aqDcXe8Y2KZE_SLn0nEt0NQ_6mj6Qlu22bFrWe9XpGKBWmbdlHmzs8Yk0es9gO_4AW7NO0Dm6qzNNKqpGidcc1u_d980eCF7ALTYpzgHXrjF298aNZrYXCmr0v4/s400/PICT0111.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
The song is called 'Ungettable' and I simply love the atmosphere, rolling guitars and beautiful violins in the song – and the band's way of visualising their art.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidZTfqfKnO0HQ4sV2Ci5tk24ueX_-q2DPdLblogD2SThb1KqxTOcBWHNnb5djD52RKN2F_Upj2slidLMg97JTbxUt2nI3W3Deob8wmLvOzCyGRMWJQHsiCHvVZXyQaUHHGJv7IGuf9FLk/s1600/PICT0114.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidZTfqfKnO0HQ4sV2Ci5tk24ueX_-q2DPdLblogD2SThb1KqxTOcBWHNnb5djD52RKN2F_Upj2slidLMg97JTbxUt2nI3W3Deob8wmLvOzCyGRMWJQHsiCHvVZXyQaUHHGJv7IGuf9FLk/s400/PICT0114.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
It might be deep, it might be dark – but somehow it's still hopeful and purging!<br />
You can read and see more about Naryan on their <a href="http://www.naryanband.com/" target="_blank">website</a>, and hear the song '<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=102K5AtGqLc" target="_blank">Ungettable'in Youtube</a>. <br />

The base in most of the nails is OPI Skull & Glossbones, and on the ring finger GAP Starry Night. I have to say I was a bit disappointed on the Starry Night: it took four coats to be passably opaque, and still I felt the glitters got a bit buried in the base..<br />

The stamping is from BP-L015 With Essence Dark grey Stampy polish. Thumb and pinky got some simple marbling with saran wrap – and the pinky a tribute to the band logo with striping tape. <br />

The other girls have been listening to these same songs, and striving to find inspiration in them. I think the results are really pretty! Well, the latter two are what I did just recently. With a few Finnish nail artists we decided to go for a music related challenge this month. Basically, everyone picks two songs – an oldie and a new favorite – to inspire the nail art of others, all weekend. And this weekend is mine! :)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiodK_pAEENEDbepxhbIZXs3vAvNtX3RBjWsquPgBXwZf1TFHzBFgioUqZ5C8ab39Jtw_uT_bNDSvCaUH02Q-xuQgKIRGPbGOiEAweiUABLJ4p0vP8jA9Ztr9dyFmVUyMOE7va4Uze2lh0/s1600/PICT0135.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiodK_pAEENEDbepxhbIZXs3vAvNtX3RBjWsquPgBXwZf1TFHzBFgioUqZ5C8ab39Jtw_uT_bNDSvCaUH02Q-xuQgKIRGPbGOiEAweiUABLJ4p0vP8jA9Ztr9dyFmVUyMOE7va4Uze2lh0/s400/PICT0135.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
My "oldie" is Alanis Morissette's You Learn from the album Jagged Little Pill. It might just be THE comfort&motivation song for the girls in my generation. I still drive around with the CD in my car, and pop it in when I need uplift and want to sing my lungs out like no one's listening (and I make sure no one is..)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXxFSjdbHCyq3EkDNbC1CigAF7cCH1TYANb-vm8z_tW4FjZa2egR4-B4b3ql4-yy-fV_9L-ZMKZsTJp4aqgxljPSCRNP90Zc6AA5mFeVzNereK7Ok2GEtHgQBPEJhsJ9Qt67zcDpwqME0/s1600/PICT0142.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXxFSjdbHCyq3EkDNbC1CigAF7cCH1TYANb-vm8z_tW4FjZa2egR4-B4b3ql4-yy-fV_9L-ZMKZsTJp4aqgxljPSCRNP90Zc6AA5mFeVzNereK7Ok2GEtHgQBPEJhsJ9Qt67zcDpwqME0/s400/PICT0142.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
I took my inspiration partly from the song itself, and partly from the album cover:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgI1iHLQF-KXLY0lffA5MDW0dypRc3yKFdZIBzOwqG_0k8JibYJhB2xEAGuFIaFAeaCW6_8pLSgQO0tpZcp2zaPa6LHH6NpFBgUOEEUGFbiNtBdW_2ZldUJM6zBuBzaqYi521jTgE5Rrk0/s1600/Jagged+Little+Pill.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgI1iHLQF-KXLY0lffA5MDW0dypRc3yKFdZIBzOwqG_0k8JibYJhB2xEAGuFIaFAeaCW6_8pLSgQO0tpZcp2zaPa6LHH6NpFBgUOEEUGFbiNtBdW_2ZldUJM6zBuBzaqYi521jTgE5Rrk0/s320/Jagged+Little+Pill.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
And, of course, I made a holo version. Holo all the things!!! :D <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

They gather around their friends and family, feed as much as they can, and seem to plan their journey in an enthusiastic manner. How does that sound familiar to an academic seasonal worker? :D<br />

In the middle and ring fingers, and on the thumbnail I'm wearing Wild and Mild Diamond - Queens<br />
(as you might know, I'm a sucker to everything NYC-related. So I had to buy the whole New York themed collection from this brand, although I don't especially like the brand, the polishes are a nightmare to store plus the bottlecaps don't align...)<br />
Pinky and index figers have two coats of Color Club Wild Orchid.<br />

You will be seeing some Born Pretty stamping plates in the blog in the

my own hard earnd money, from my own free will. Just so that you know. :) <br />

A side note, though: I'm just a little bit bewildered by the discussion on bloggers selling their ethics and gravitating towards money and marketing. Maybe some bloggers do that, maybe some don't even if people think that -- and maybe there are many of us to whom this is not even an issue. I've never accepted any collaboration nor even products for review. I'm a bit confused with all the statements and disclosures and policies I possibly should be explicating, when the only thing I want to write about is the polish and stuff (bought by me) I play with and which brings me so much joy. So please bear with me and the occasionally missing commercial details - and feel free to ask if there's a question related to this bothering you!<br />

<br />Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3019959332876800420.post-15048052084750918642015-08-17T00:14:00.002+02:002015-08-17T00:15:14.968+02:00Top 10 Polishes TODAY --Well, Almost.. I have seen a few top ten polishes -posts around lately, and loved them all. The breaking point for me was the one made by the wonderful Sigi at <a href="http://zigiztyle.blogspot.fi/2015/08/top-10-kynsilakat-tanaan.html?" target="_blank">ZigiZtyle</a>. Blame her for this super-long post!<br />
<br />
What I ended up doing, though, was not top 10. It's top 9 pairs of polish.<br />
<br />
Why?!!? Why on earth nine pairs? Have a guess:<br />
A) Because I simply couldn't narrow it down to 10. <br />
B) Because I'm a freak like that. <br />
C) Because this is my blog and I do whatever I want! Muahahahahaaa :D<br />
<br />
(Hint: All of the above are correct)<br />
<br />
Though I could have maybe chosen only ten: a hugely helpful thought was to pick the favourite polishes TODAY. Not during your lifetime. Not this season. Not in the future. Only today, just now. It's all that matters.<br />
I'm urging you to try the same with your obsession (stamps, designer shoes... whatever tickles your fancy)!<br />
<br />
But, when I picked the polish from my stash, they started forming pairs. "I want this or this from China Glaze" ... "Why not both?" So, pairs it was. And I just naturally picked nine, and didn't want to search for one more pair.<br />
<br />
So here we go: <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZU1HkD4Yfu8HI0h8bR2cWKeU6s1QxNAoiq4MlpZMXM5wifHBnnX4eZuX-rV_hQo-fTq_lyNkpLk8KwjE9kuNFKM55vspf3nvUatMBFiBQUFVsYSKLSOeDpU9sSQpCh0hlGTnwBO9VBnc/s1600/PICT0106.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZU1HkD4Yfu8HI0h8bR2cWKeU6s1QxNAoiq4MlpZMXM5wifHBnnX4eZuX-rV_hQo-fTq_lyNkpLk8KwjE9kuNFKM55vspf3nvUatMBFiBQUFVsYSKLSOeDpU9sSQpCh0hlGTnwBO9VBnc/s400/PICT0106.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
First up: <b>China Glaze Red-y To Rave and UV Meant to Be.</b><br />
I could have chosen the whole summer collection, but these two babies were the essentials. So unique, such versatile, much application, wow!<br />

Second: <b>Zoya Wednesday and Storm</b><br />
I just recently bought Wednesday from another polish lover, and I cherish it! It's just so smooth and summery! The holo effect in the black beauty called Storm maybe does not need explanations.. I could watch it for hours (and sometimes do).<br />
<br />

<b><br /></b>
<b>Delush Polish Love Me Lights Out and Polish Me Silly Pinky Swear You're a *</b><br />
I had to show you the backside of Pinky Swear, because that's where all the glitters went to.. I wanted you to know, that it has stars, various hexes and all kinds of stuff – and it also turns white when temperatures change, so that the glitters really pop! What more can you ask. Lights out would be the chic older sister of this hot mess. <br />
<br />

<b>Lacquistry Silver Holo Shredded and Formula X for Sephora Maniacal</b> – the two bestest glitter toppers in the world (today). I own several polishes from the Sephora matte glitter series, but it was not hard to pick my favourite. The shade is just so unique!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDcD12IBtwnqHzEXOwn3oUuOUE-r5WQygxoSBN0GWFQr0LrrabhmDkqSj8B5-saCIj2r4x3B-GTaJ7n_JpryfVOLs4_3Q7jCUpx9jxr6g0PH0Zk5WlGevE303TGsMenyue077D7OEPKxo/s1600/PICT0164.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDcD12IBtwnqHzEXOwn3oUuOUE-r5WQygxoSBN0GWFQr0LrrabhmDkqSj8B5-saCIj2r4x3B-GTaJ7n_JpryfVOLs4_3Q7jCUpx9jxr6g0PH0Zk5WlGevE303TGsMenyue077D7OEPKxo/s320/PICT0164.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>

<b>Color Club Hot Like Lava and Foil Me Once</b><br />
These are my go-to polishes in so many ways: stamping, lack of
inspiration, toenail crisis.. you name it! We've been through a lot
together (and it shows!)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<b>A England Tristam and Saint George</b><br />
The beautiful brand made by Adina was my first indie crush. She has published a lot of amazing polishes since, but these oldies are still the goldies for me!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<b>Attitude Eastern Promise and Manhattan Lotus Effect 51K</b><br />
Despite the second being nameless, just another number in the row, these babies are pure perfection. One buttery smooth coat, and your base is ready - with or without shimmer. I also have a soft spot for magenta cremes.. But you maybe guessed that already..<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<b>Nails inc. Baker Street and Essence Circus Circus Applause Applause Red Creme</b><br />
Oh my, the perfect red and blue polishes were hard to find. But here they are.<br />
I just hope I had bought two of those Essence ones. Or three. If I ever find a dupe for the red creme, I've surely learned my lesson: Buy three, and make sure it has a less annoying name.<br />
<br />
And finally, the two odd guys:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6BvzfSbjBzoQSzvmMKmL2cdHKPO4FBAMQdyjPY513BVwxV5hPzYpbcZdCwbuszyNvLSQSqtUQdDpqWAx0zZKzMErMxWJyJAIjy2gtUkD6XHH-_I862y4L0Spnf3Zm0Jim9VOS84rxe9U/s1600/PICT0145.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6BvzfSbjBzoQSzvmMKmL2cdHKPO4FBAMQdyjPY513BVwxV5hPzYpbcZdCwbuszyNvLSQSqtUQdDpqWAx0zZKzMErMxWJyJAIjy2gtUkD6XHH-_I862y4L0Spnf3Zm0Jim9VOS84rxe9U/s400/PICT0145.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<b>Flormar Satin Matte GS11 Canary and OPI Conga-Line Coral</b><br />
The first is the bestest yellow polish in my stash (and has beautiful shimmer), and the second one is my all-time long lasting polish love, from which everything started. No listing could be done without giving credit to her!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilEMJHQCiKL_IelNTPi_EtjgC8GEJeKRzjvr15_uVgY8qHT5Lu81nkSgutU6dDH359ytUPccKZLsF0VlCMfDaNxf09m7fIaxUjScbMKAs_hmlZz-0JYGcJGxgsuWuaRy2Aw9tUUwQ2bfg/s1600/PICT0153.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilEMJHQCiKL_IelNTPi_EtjgC8GEJeKRzjvr15_uVgY8qHT5Lu81nkSgutU6dDH359ytUPccKZLsF0VlCMfDaNxf09m7fIaxUjScbMKAs_hmlZz-0JYGcJGxgsuWuaRy2Aw9tUUwQ2bfg/s400/PICT0153.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
And a bonus for all of you who reached this far: an exclusive peek behind the scenes: My highly professional photo studio (ie. a styrofoam cooler box lid... which I suspend between my knees... while sitting on our doorstep... wearing a tracksuit...)!! Yes, I thought you would be impressed..<br />

(No, it's not 'Will you marry me' It's: 'How should I paint my nails')<br />
:D <br />

And he answered: 'Paint corals!'<br />
I have absolutely no idea, where that came from. We have never seen corals. We are not planning a diving holiday. We haven't even watched a documentary with corals on it.<br />
But corals he said, and corals it was.<br />

I painted a base with two coats of Zoya Wednesday, and sponged on a slight gradient using Wednesday, Sinful Colors Cinderella and a random white polish.<br />

To top it all, I chose from my untrieds the Liquid Sky Lacquer Great White. You see one coat over Wednesday in the index finger - and some dabs on the other nails. Just watch the gorgeous shimmer!! The Great White fits in perfectly to the theme! ... This coral reef isn't safe anymore.... Watch out you little fish.... Duunn dun... dunnn dun...<br />

I shopped some Essence colours on clearance a while ago. I had read a tip about If I were a boy - and I'm glad I took it! The best pastel blue creme I've seen!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

When I came home I noticed that I happened to have bought a green, a blue and a purple in matching tones! Combining them was a must.<br />

I took inspiration for these flowers from <a href="http://www.misscelina.com/" target="_blank">Misscelinas</a> pic I saw in Pinterest. I tried to find a link for you to the corresponding blog post, but didn't find it. Go check her awesome blog out anyways - just click her name above!!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3019959332876800420.post-68812042209674153692015-03-31T18:57:00.002+02:002015-03-31T18:57:17.426+02:00Starring: AndrogynieThis starry manicure features Orly Androgynie. It took three coats to opacity, plus the hexes were playing hard to get. Propably they were glued to the sides of the bottle. <br />

Oh, the star stud is from a wheel I bought from Primark. They have had some nice nail things lately. The polishes are on the smelly side, but these decorations are nice.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3019959332876800420.post-8298563998835971522015-03-28T20:28:00.003+01:002015-03-28T20:28:54.147+01:00Sea Breeze, Winter Mint and Classic redsHere's a neglected post of a neglected polish: I had this polish in my untrieds for at least a year, and this manicure photographed for at least another year. But here it comes now!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbM9K9CV4LaYBCBEj5uDGfHC8mkNGXUsK2MMOalug_jv-nhFw9xCu8SdwS3dRF39g5klsLnl0vtR0HRPwarZhY0oOUqc3xTcqsrXl0ExAd3-yCrzyVLUoTBmz65HIywh4hBAEK-IUTl_4/s1600/PICT0113.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbM9K9CV4LaYBCBEj5uDGfHC8mkNGXUsK2MMOalug_jv-nhFw9xCu8SdwS3dRF39g5klsLnl0vtR0HRPwarZhY0oOUqc3xTcqsrXl0ExAd3-yCrzyVLUoTBmz65HIywh4hBAEK-IUTl_4/s1600/PICT0113.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
The base polish to all nails is Attitude Sea Breeze, which is a perfect pastel creme! It applied like butter, no bald spots..<br />
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVoifAGdSqkHL-nuJQ_tlaOPsYD4EuK7cam-0yrHQwdUc_CpQkAUhNlVznROqUJSBBMxV7seBfiPHiLN70QaoACOJzEGTKuFtHqp7iys_V6Ssi3SyNHC7V0VypgRMvVYPWsNPz1elKk8M/s1600/PICT0091.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVoifAGdSqkHL-nuJQ_tlaOPsYD4EuK7cam-0yrHQwdUc_CpQkAUhNlVznROqUJSBBMxV7seBfiPHiLN70QaoACOJzEGTKuFtHqp7iys_V6Ssi3SyNHC7V0VypgRMvVYPWsNPz1elKk8M/s1600/PICT0091.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
On middle and ring fingers I added two coats of Revlon parfumerie Winter Mint</div>
<div>
I loved the scent – it was so hard to resist licking the nails!!<br />
Did you know you can freshen up the scent of the polish by painting on a layer of top coat? I didn't!</div>
<div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPWNfhs6hlhiccsQkx2Mffh0Q33kILtefrRv2oUG0EJ8QvSJQbMxMh-VX48F7_w2gE7zePyVoolHGuzBve2QbPOoi0KQJtMfwIdYHwrjlg9E8MdQWUKfLVaMkHl0APJhMu5r3A8Ge7eW8/s1600/PICT0094.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPWNfhs6hlhiccsQkx2Mffh0Q33kILtefrRv2oUG0EJ8QvSJQbMxMh-VX48F7_w2gE7zePyVoolHGuzBve2QbPOoi0KQJtMfwIdYHwrjlg9E8MdQWUKfLVaMkHl0APJhMu5r3A8Ge7eW8/s1600/PICT0094.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
The result was pretty, but still a bit bumpy after two thick coats of Seche Vite.</div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I added french tips with Revlon's Revlon Red and China Glaze Ruby Pumps.</div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgocV7NxBF9WBka0Mg0YTJc0nPKPUfNTAAJd4oPfNSZxPQcBgOuqaMMPjGLHvl7jUeEe1bIdXCZMoRj5CqCxwiaXzqXyGb-u-PPrAqOnS41pJU4_IMijsipZoey1E3kcBvCLD9CnELvnhQ/s1600/PICT0104.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgocV7NxBF9WBka0Mg0YTJc0nPKPUfNTAAJd4oPfNSZxPQcBgOuqaMMPjGLHvl7jUeEe1bIdXCZMoRj5CqCxwiaXzqXyGb-u-PPrAqOnS41pJU4_IMijsipZoey1E3kcBvCLD9CnELvnhQ/s1600/PICT0104.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
And as an accent, a teardrop with Revlon Red using the wax paper technique.</div>
<div>
(Basically you just paint a few coats of polish on a wax paper/cooking sheet, let it dry, and cut it as you wish)</div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Why a teardrop? No idea... Maybe I could promote donating blood with these :D</div>

Woot!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNj8PeLkeYQMN8Er86uh3BEaK9OukJ7vJARQj3Do77eVVrUSZCzsA_v3HvBXorvgg6BU7X5zv9ZxkM-Sgxd4B2p3VPRh_Uv9kW-lbMjiZgEKzMiYJLdItwtXPtkstyieXJXNiWHwFTK4Y/s1600/PICT0039.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNj8PeLkeYQMN8Er86uh3BEaK9OukJ7vJARQj3Do77eVVrUSZCzsA_v3HvBXorvgg6BU7X5zv9ZxkM-Sgxd4B2p3VPRh_Uv9kW-lbMjiZgEKzMiYJLdItwtXPtkstyieXJXNiWHwFTK4Y/s1600/PICT0039.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
I decided to call this the Circus: there's some candy floss, some magic dust, some clash and some drama...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdLDkWHOjYyD8fgc6tdP_4bLU0m4edbAHsM7mAcgMrmpPN8KNox6p_hkKejmZDPzJnjcnvxLaL03Bgvo6mq_r4uHNGQ2nPBQbdo5w_4wabC4U376eu70PznWDpxQULZUVieYIO815g4iE/s1600/PICT0029.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdLDkWHOjYyD8fgc6tdP_4bLU0m4edbAHsM7mAcgMrmpPN8KNox6p_hkKejmZDPzJnjcnvxLaL03Bgvo6mq_r4uHNGQ2nPBQbdo5w_4wabC4U376eu70PznWDpxQULZUVieYIO815g4iE/s1600/PICT0029.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
The polishes I used were:<br />
OPI Mod About You, Life Gave Me Lemons and The Power of Pink.<br />
The purple is Catrice Pink Punk - which is a bit funny as it's the not-pink polish in this lot.<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOPxtcQxUigq-tpKUHnGzJDhcFDWrxq11aUWnCNtixxtNoJ_FugXld9D8sRgBJ7xIA-7KqpcGXZzvDMB25Dhb5hoXxBh3N4Z8-zHLQEx4aNkJ6pUxocdYKxm2XrEfjBcj2_6Yvbr8k3Gw/s1600/PICT0032.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOPxtcQxUigq-tpKUHnGzJDhcFDWrxq11aUWnCNtixxtNoJ_FugXld9D8sRgBJ7xIA-7KqpcGXZzvDMB25Dhb5hoXxBh3N4Z8-zHLQEx4aNkJ6pUxocdYKxm2XrEfjBcj2_6Yvbr8k3Gw/s1600/PICT0032.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
Alongside the water marble there are nails with Mod About You as the base, topped off with the Power of Pink glitters (they are both fom the breast cancer awareness set OPI released last year), and with some dots of the Life Gave me Lemons.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

It's special for me, because bought this on a trip to Chicago - where I landed a day late being at first stranded to the Netherlands, and had a room booked in a 12-bed dorm at a hostel.... Oh, those sleepless nights... But it paid off when I could haul both Storm and Aurora released in the same collection!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

You may disagree, but I just love the holo glitter on this, the application, the opacity.... all of it! <br />

The base in this manicure is two coats of Astor Pop Color 141.<br />
Over it I used China Glaze Crackle Luminous Lavender - plus some tape and Zoya Aurora - the awesomest purple polish there is..<br />

The green polish I'm also holding in these pics is Kiko 441 from the Digital LE.<br />
<div>
After the first coat I was disappointed, but after three coats I was happy I purchased this holo glitter beauty. It's so flashyyyy..... And it has actually got bar glitter! How awesome is that?!</div>

This mani started with two coats of OPI Y'all Come Back Ya Hear and stamping with Konad white and BM308.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMSdAuET1O17AiNaI4jpSCJnm1pPTdD2hkaErZD-30HiomBkt9vXKKBCclKCyn6BTTk3tuzhQKgXUSelFHNrxT0Q3ewGc9wNQDKd9YhUQk0dDg5g821W6qB3kunuc8RsgDvaDQzQ_VlTo/s1600/PICT0021.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMSdAuET1O17AiNaI4jpSCJnm1pPTdD2hkaErZD-30HiomBkt9vXKKBCclKCyn6BTTk3tuzhQKgXUSelFHNrxT0Q3ewGc9wNQDKd9YhUQk0dDg5g821W6qB3kunuc8RsgDvaDQzQ_VlTo/s1600/PICT0021.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
I then proceeded to do my first stamping sandwich by adding: <br />
some more Y'all<br />
some more stamping<br />
a final coat of Y'all<br />
... and a coat of Seche Vite.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The inspiration for this came from the amazing blog <a href="http://www.manicurator.com/2014/02/the-lacquer-cabinet-by-nailtini.html" target="_blank">The manicurator. </a><br />
Please look up her version! My own looks like it's done by a two-year old, in comparison...<br />

Base three coats China Glaze Digital Dawn (I got this in a goodie bag in a meeting).<br />
I added those tweedy lines with Color Club Beyond and Wild & Mild Diamond Roosevelt Avenue mixed with Gosh Silver.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The accent fingers feature stamping with:<br />

The funny thing with this manicure is, that I'm not really sure which colour is which - regarding the challenge. Which is the grey? Which is the extra black or the silver? Is the base really brown or pink?<br />
Keep guessing, while browsing the wonderful work of other participants!<br />

Actually I didn't ever realize these were magnetic polishes - I bought them from clearance in NYC as I had to rush to cathc a train to Baltimore, and they didn't have any tags or magnets on. Sadly, they had stayed in the untrieds since.<br />

As a brand, I feel that Orly is underrated. They've released some trustworthy baseline polishes and some really extraordinary collections like the Mineral effects (Stone Cold and its mates) or the Birds of a Feather (featuring Fowl Play). Someone just said in facebook their bottles are ugly, but at least the handle enables a very good grip.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Chevron print was done with Kiko 454 (the purple one) and 457 (the blue one). These are their textured Sugar Mat polishes, which I bought this year in a set on sale. If you like texture, you will love these!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I begun to do the chevron with ordinary craft tape, but that didn't really work out after the first stripe.<br />
I mean where was I supposed to put more tape? Maybe I should invest in some real striping tape...<br />

This has been a crazy week!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhe3Kue40UmLeriwJwnWbyt3G5j6GE5BHtvYAEXAiXFg8w92NckXLFW6-_PS1QbPfi2qf0_lvEyK_iL-g1q3G3O_ZAjsNq29wVGg6tD7tgXo9ZtbRL6-ac8o0tS06vxGH8fF35w6y99RCk/s1600/PICT0002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhe3Kue40UmLeriwJwnWbyt3G5j6GE5BHtvYAEXAiXFg8w92NckXLFW6-_PS1QbPfi2qf0_lvEyK_iL-g1q3G3O_ZAjsNq29wVGg6tD7tgXo9ZtbRL6-ac8o0tS06vxGH8fF35w6y99RCk/s1600/PICT0002.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
The base here is Barielle Make it a Latte – the only clearly brown polish I've got with me.<br />
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGQZo9HreXUGhSj0-I7MV1x81s-2s5Z7MyduUrjCo3XUhshXJtwNCTCRKpohse-dDUpyLSFxhK_gGfaxcTDco60xvHoOIdrBceuBKpCXvdzg6Rx2X7_NC0ZTT7B7s_kf-DemVHrnRvjcM/s1600/PICT0007.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGQZo9HreXUGhSj0-I7MV1x81s-2s5Z7MyduUrjCo3XUhshXJtwNCTCRKpohse-dDUpyLSFxhK_gGfaxcTDco60xvHoOIdrBceuBKpCXvdzg6Rx2X7_NC0ZTT7B7s_kf-DemVHrnRvjcM/s1600/PICT0007.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
First I added some spun sugar with Barielle The Pink of Fashion. The polish worked extremely well for this technique - and it's a pink - so a total winner for spun sugar!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_8oKhGti64vhq6fazlb2wJCcM58KDqs4oBQ4KIXwkk6C0Z7QwGCobXdeMAsn177uXfuepiAR0wz-oMXXc4wP1er6bqeHdtnR3BuQL5_UZxqyclZcDkI0hBm5BSnAXFpr-613bogcEdlU/s1600/PICT0008.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_8oKhGti64vhq6fazlb2wJCcM58KDqs4oBQ4KIXwkk6C0Z7QwGCobXdeMAsn177uXfuepiAR0wz-oMXXc4wP1er6bqeHdtnR3BuQL5_UZxqyclZcDkI0hBm5BSnAXFpr-613bogcEdlU/s1600/PICT0008.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
I also did a couple spins with OPI Skull and Glossbones - and used the two polishes for double dots. All the pics are without top coat - although I did add some later on for wearability..<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I went through a lot to gather them all, and up to this date, I haven't even used the all. Shame on me! But they are pretty on the bottle, too!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihD6bFYbHY9I9ttnvIuUkcPv1IdNfQvPqmP_DbVj8CLpMTdEkJcuQOSqkDkOkcekPB0NlsJsfLU7aaEjwneqlMuZIlI4kSkffMHpFlDdmYK3P4J8_v10kGXVK0_CbktnmCFMq78gjdXTc/s1600/PICT0184.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihD6bFYbHY9I9ttnvIuUkcPv1IdNfQvPqmP_DbVj8CLpMTdEkJcuQOSqkDkOkcekPB0NlsJsfLU7aaEjwneqlMuZIlI4kSkffMHpFlDdmYK3P4J8_v10kGXVK0_CbktnmCFMq78gjdXTc/s1600/PICT0184.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
This one was a perfect match for a Valentine's day manicure - and for a Color Club oldie!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinhvD3T_Dk5MmhCZbX9mF-r02wSBA_2T0Wlfod_f8y18T0CI_GtPaONoQJ21LBpNktB5KquO7Ta1XchQMYs5xvI_OSsH391EuWSDZi8fPXSu7UJ1IOZal0ibk0CMpp3ukN45QNG8NwZKQ/s1600/PICT0175.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinhvD3T_Dk5MmhCZbX9mF-r02wSBA_2T0Wlfod_f8y18T0CI_GtPaONoQJ21LBpNktB5KquO7Ta1XchQMYs5xvI_OSsH391EuWSDZi8fPXSu7UJ1IOZal0ibk0CMpp3ukN45QNG8NwZKQ/s1600/PICT0175.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
I started with two coats of Color Club Wing Fling, and then painted on two (relatively easy) coats of Golden Rose Jolly Jewels 108. I just loved the bling and the jelliness - in fact everything about this polish!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDgoZtik4zdaPkHFF_jqMWCXTs22iWyCQDcbN36Y67Ed0ZM6-IjltPczoLhQ1_cbLO6Fx-riPKv6nY8pAPj08ZyGx1aDOYc94ombYM04Vf7Q9ZBztn-6CPvXGeP874fhSnuR9UuyEG_1A/s1600/PICT0161.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDgoZtik4zdaPkHFF_jqMWCXTs22iWyCQDcbN36Y67Ed0ZM6-IjltPczoLhQ1_cbLO6Fx-riPKv6nY8pAPj08ZyGx1aDOYc94ombYM04Vf7Q9ZBztn-6CPvXGeP874fhSnuR9UuyEG_1A/s1600/PICT0161.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
Above is Wing Fling on its own. It's one of my old favourites, and I like the whole collection - but just why are these so sheer!! Just why!?! Otherwise I would use these all the time!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPsftyknSheHhnVUQEhU1-R7gu9A5ZXnxHEhrHA0I1v45rsGUYcgDpAGEYM5AFoAyg96RZGdHEmn3hINcwH3uyQrwZue22FtVwfj9x5_x-vw9hBlzy96B_C-rAAMwIasAVuBV7N_NH49s/s1600/PICT0176.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPsftyknSheHhnVUQEhU1-R7gu9A5ZXnxHEhrHA0I1v45rsGUYcgDpAGEYM5AFoAyg96RZGdHEmn3hINcwH3uyQrwZue22FtVwfj9x5_x-vw9hBlzy96B_C-rAAMwIasAVuBV7N_NH49s/s1600/PICT0176.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
To make the sweetness even sweeter, I added a heart on my ring finger and some stripes on the middle finger with Sally Hansen Complete I Pink I Can, using sticker label and striping tape.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdZOn8gTUlsyNs5yYizDobjJI88wUM-VPQ90yiBX3lYK92aP_EnAjTXmR51nyuKt7nIwKTLO18D_G_f88nnboKBy_0eTgWfc0P2-xdujEdcXRTqntTlstHcuZXi9mMxWpS85eTDZDMtaI/s1600/PICT0187.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdZOn8gTUlsyNs5yYizDobjJI88wUM-VPQ90yiBX3lYK92aP_EnAjTXmR51nyuKt7nIwKTLO18D_G_f88nnboKBy_0eTgWfc0P2-xdujEdcXRTqntTlstHcuZXi9mMxWpS85eTDZDMtaI/s1600/PICT0187.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>

Base here is Barielle Make It a Latte (the colour of this is nothing like latte, by the way...)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9TXK53B6KQeR0QiZU_cwaFqCwppWE-8_WODH4QoFpeOhy9l5hrRmPuvn3e8bhgOiBrrf99jUwaU9kDhrJcC9Mtj44VnMNcn_ebQOxldwr-JidaO1YcLsSyGkQl98p0gn32JrzOngWcbs/s1600/PICT0005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9TXK53B6KQeR0QiZU_cwaFqCwppWE-8_WODH4QoFpeOhy9l5hrRmPuvn3e8bhgOiBrrf99jUwaU9kDhrJcC9Mtj44VnMNcn_ebQOxldwr-JidaO1YcLsSyGkQl98p0gn32JrzOngWcbs/s1600/PICT0005.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
I added random dabs with Color Club Hot Like Lava, as I had to include a pink.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Then I painted the contours using fine nail art brush with Orly Boho Bonnet mixed with white and Essence Nail art twins Romeo, which is a dark silver polish.<br />

And then I added rhinestones to a flower shape. What a cutesy-flowery style! Although I could have used a thinner topcoat... ahem...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

On other fingers I added stamping with Konad white and DRK-A, and then some yellow dots with Orly Spark.</div>

The pics didn't turn out too well – lobster hands, bubbling top coat, cuticles in bad shape and all that... But I really loved this manicure! I'll have to give this style another go soon, maybe even with more murky colour palette or jewel tones... Hmmm...</div>

I've actually found out, that I like water marbling! Who would have thought that after my first disastrous attempts?! I see water marbling as THE legitimate reason to just sit an entire hour by my desk and "do nothing", maybe browse a few nail blogs, maybe shop some nail stuff, but doing nothing productive.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The February colours are gray, brown and pink, and only brown is missing here... Luckily this is allowed in the challenge rules!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I started out with a white base, and used Wild&Mild Rockefeller Center, Models Own Mushroom, NYX Girls Perfect Gray (giveaway score) and China Glaze White on White for marbling.<br />

On the accent finger I added a touch of pink: Essence Multidimension Most Wanted.<br />

This is maybe not the best water marble I've made, but I spent a lot of my precious time doing it, so I'm going to like it! Ever felt the same??

Rather, I tend to enjoy all the planning, googling for swatches, making spreadheets... you know the game...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrvrI5h_QK3CaSNN_a7eD_Kpz6lVoVY4Ph_DQUI4_1Mln9LlXbJA05K7_sXCCEXsj-mdvZ7S8BCy-ce_iJ1tDv1WLn-lFwOT3rz_FPuzj924oRi4192nt42pGlMGzD7yarmPe24CTReRk/s1600/PICT0161.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrvrI5h_QK3CaSNN_a7eD_Kpz6lVoVY4Ph_DQUI4_1Mln9LlXbJA05K7_sXCCEXsj-mdvZ7S8BCy-ce_iJ1tDv1WLn-lFwOT3rz_FPuzj924oRi4192nt42pGlMGzD7yarmPe24CTReRk/s1600/PICT0161.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
But just last weekend, something snapped. I went into a Flormar store, found a full display of their new Satin Matte polishes, bought four, came home, painted them all on my nails, tried stamping with them, took pics and now I'm writing this post - and publishing it on one go!!! Awesome, and soooo weird!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgs4K4X6qq01G3d_dZu009hKubQsZMuNUz2tQgqlTxHxxSSsG-hRBgEj2G_kK9Q_quVQLWJG4QcxZ43lAYQ9NV4rTHR_4Zb2HsblLMPKNhRJnhwAv9ehOp-qlf3-tK9Vv1Sd3VP-nyQ9qY/s1600/PICT0167.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgs4K4X6qq01G3d_dZu009hKubQsZMuNUz2tQgqlTxHxxSSsG-hRBgEj2G_kK9Q_quVQLWJG4QcxZ43lAYQ9NV4rTHR_4Zb2HsblLMPKNhRJnhwAv9ehOp-qlf3-tK9Vv1Sd3VP-nyQ9qY/s1600/PICT0167.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
Anyhow, onto the polish... These four satin mattes are really good in opacity - these are all two coats, and persons with less free edge might get away with one coat.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYL3VXuROZnex90h-R7IvfPmDnr48y5fZpxj8Ia-1MfCJibLEk1iE-mterfV_3zbWBqeuDtBs_7feIUBJW07srUGBKnnlALX1IB8PlRorXAy9CzWQq2WngMp10KUNe_1rCCnPdJaL8Iy8/s1600/PICT0170.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYL3VXuROZnex90h-R7IvfPmDnr48y5fZpxj8Ia-1MfCJibLEk1iE-mterfV_3zbWBqeuDtBs_7feIUBJW07srUGBKnnlALX1IB8PlRorXAy9CzWQq2WngMp10KUNe_1rCCnPdJaL8Iy8/s1600/PICT0170.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
They also dry really fast - I mean fast as in "they'll dry on the brush if you're not quick enough".<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

They look satin-y without top coat, and still great with the top coat on. <br />

The yellow might honestly be the best yellow polish I've ever seen. And I've tried out a few...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The colours pictured here are GS11 (Canary), GS13 (Orchid), GS15 (Cobalt) and GS05 (Chili). I love how they finally gave names to the polishes!! Thank you, Flormar, for listening my endless rants...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

And, that is definitely not all. They are also ok for stamping. Especially the purple and orange gave great results – but I did manage to stamp even with the yellow. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I left at the store many original colours, like a murky olive shimmer, and many consumer-friendly colours like a blingy pink. I might have to go back and haul them, too...<br />

---By the way, here's also my right hand I stamped at random, didn't do a proper cleanup and bumped somewhere. Sorry about that! I just thought I'd like to show you all the colour combos I made...<br />

Essence Hello Holo sat in the untrieds for a LONG time. And if I
say a long time, it's not about days or weeks, rather months or years...
Somehow I thought nothing much about it, but it really is a nice and sparkly topper. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVVuHlX1cd-DG-92UtpepZSEk4Iz6QMWG1UPT8h2r_WoqIm0qo1zdQbJnLJnlQO5tiSGVYriw3aExArque5DitYfbKJjDbCUoBWBvgpSQFDbdIpcZvr6i2hNrIekmsfCBefOoLe7NiwZM/s1600/PICT0114.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVVuHlX1cd-DG-92UtpepZSEk4Iz6QMWG1UPT8h2r_WoqIm0qo1zdQbJnLJnlQO5tiSGVYriw3aExArque5DitYfbKJjDbCUoBWBvgpSQFDbdIpcZvr6i2hNrIekmsfCBefOoLe7NiwZM/s1600/PICT0114.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
I begun the mani with two coats of Catrice How I Matt Your Mother. <br />
In accent fingers I added some dots with Essence Nail Art topper in Hello Holo.<br />
The thumb got a coat of Hello Holo, topped with Essence soft touch top coat.<br />

This manicure was inspired by some other blogger - and I'm so bummed I can't find the design anymore!! Please shout out if you have done something similar in the past! I'd love to give you the credit!<br />

I like to wear dark colours when I occasionally file my nails down to nubbins. I feel the dark plums, deep burgundys and blackened colours look too heavy on real talons my nails so often are - I'm a bit lazy in keeping them short :)

We celebrated the New Year -and the beginning of the no booze January- with an extra special wine, Corral de Campanas by Quinta de la Quietud. The hubby suggested I paint my nails in the style of the label – what a great idea!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Base here is Nails White, two coats. On it I painted random dabs with OPI From a to Z-urich, Essence Colour&go Wake up! and OPI Y'all Come Back Ya Hear.<br />
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Lastly (but not leastly haha) I added the lines with a fine nail art brush and Mavala black.</div>

Although I messed up a few points, I was quite happy how the mani looked compared to the original. I'm looking forward to February and more wine labels to get inspired by!!<br />

If you own it, this is the kind of manicure you're going to do, sooner or later. And, believe me, it pays off... <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiW8_Ry1tgvPKz4NTERohgPVouIItbBmWGtnZFYfTHMIekIJpVZV5J9X1eUY_2LACWUS1G0CaIUiwb8pFtZU4NpxYneCvCkkH3xbyaUjrM41zRbPTDm6hlY6kh7IGPUC5SmpMA7mfOUK5k/s1600/PICT0190.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiW8_Ry1tgvPKz4NTERohgPVouIItbBmWGtnZFYfTHMIekIJpVZV5J9X1eUY_2LACWUS1G0CaIUiwb8pFtZU4NpxYneCvCkkH3xbyaUjrM41zRbPTDm6hlY6kh7IGPUC5SmpMA7mfOUK5k/s1600/PICT0190.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
I paired it first with a blue jelly polish.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I proceeded like this:<br />
a coat of Essence Cool and the Gang<br />
a coat of OPI Pirouette my Whistle<br />
a coat of CatG<br />
dabbings of PMW<br />
a coat of Seche Vite<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I couldn't stop myself here - although I maybe should have. I added an accent finger with iridescent glequins in the left hand, and China Glaze Snow Globe in the right.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgL-oc4RWgAa-CdSp6CjlZadHu4im81wgJffsHT4ISkw8d0DJ2whny8mCPk9u4ZC6hDj0FtDGkyTBhcuc6BtV5rjSo4iaJpSt_tibH_BEBD5XVuyhNGwr_Ta46TtJl59yY-fe9PXoK-3Dk/s1600/PICT0217.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgL-oc4RWgAa-CdSp6CjlZadHu4im81wgJffsHT4ISkw8d0DJ2whny8mCPk9u4ZC6hDj0FtDGkyTBhcuc6BtV5rjSo4iaJpSt_tibH_BEBD5XVuyhNGwr_Ta46TtJl59yY-fe9PXoK-3Dk/s1600/PICT0217.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
I'm useless in glitter placement, sorry! I need some more excercise...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUdKVaR3nEZOkLv5gd1_NbTqAQlTNtsC0WnoZOUkWZ9bpDMxB3Sk86bmljm3RLsbjdTJFJK8QcopIygJl3CFmhVhWgyFwl5LpODihyRdAeOnCkpuTNEkIF1rBX0vSQ1Vmu0BgHiulFUz8/s1600/PICT0218.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUdKVaR3nEZOkLv5gd1_NbTqAQlTNtsC0WnoZOUkWZ9bpDMxB3Sk86bmljm3RLsbjdTJFJK8QcopIygJl3CFmhVhWgyFwl5LpODihyRdAeOnCkpuTNEkIF1rBX0vSQ1Vmu0BgHiulFUz8/s1600/PICT0218.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
Finally, I aimed for some kind of a seabed effect with the stamping. The pattern is from the DRK-A plate, stamped twice: first with Essie Fair Game, and then with Orly It's Up to Blue.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIeGnmOUpb-kmgvfzfdOlZ1fbbvqhb7M7qgVM-JqQ09GQWt34O6qxoE28L3PeaYNHSTMlpftI3HbfdukflvOQWnSk0ArfWbRqVB6WHCurds1Ev1SGJ8PPR7uxRWYS4VPtcrLh2hXcJ_ak/s1600/PICT0227.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIeGnmOUpb-kmgvfzfdOlZ1fbbvqhb7M7qgVM-JqQ09GQWt34O6qxoE28L3PeaYNHSTMlpftI3HbfdukflvOQWnSk0ArfWbRqVB6WHCurds1Ev1SGJ8PPR7uxRWYS4VPtcrLh2hXcJ_ak/s1600/PICT0227.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
Some more Seche Vite, and I was ready (to regret I didn't stop earlier..)
